Dear Catfish Nation,
A bittersweet end to our 2018 season, as we fell to the Straw Dogs. We’d been hoping to recreate our earlier stomping of them but no luck. As always we were proud of our skills which were much on display: Larvitar’s graceful catches at 2nd and his mighty bats, Pickles Picazio’s fine catches in the outfield and strong swings, Christophish’s strong arm and scoopy glove at shortstop and his zippy base-running, John T’s mountainous strength at 1st and booming bat, Richie Rich’s sweet catch (x2) in deep left field and his unbashful bat, Alexa the X Factor’s blistering bat and strength at 3rd, Big Matt Abbate’s perfect pitching and superb swings, Erin H-Bomb’s hustle behind the plate and bashing bat, John the Battler Abbate’s sweet catch in shortfield his battling bat, Liz the Agressor’s poise in right field and superb swings at the plate, and even yours truly made an out on the mound by catching a ball that was hit right at her. (!)
Afterwards, many of us swam off to the Muddy to drown our sorrows in soda pops, beer, and a lot of pizza, howling with sorrow that our season is over.
BUT we still have that Easter Seals game, August 11, at which we will trounce Harvard! So stay tuned for more information on that.
