Catfish 5, GAME 17; GAME 13, Catfish 4

Dear Fish and Friends,

Another brutal double header last night. We were all swimming in our own sweat mixed in with occasional rain sprinklings. These GAMErs are hard to beat, and we Fish did our best. I am proud to note that we held them to ZERO (0) runs in the top of the 3rd in game 2. We had some particularly shiny moments: Larvitar Rubeck’s fine hits, Naslamwell’s 2-run home run (not to mention his special socks—I should’ve taken a photo snap of those), Tslammy’s Tsai’s barbaric bats and his perfect pitching, Battering Butters Elwell’s home run, Ryan Pickles Picazio’s fine hits and catches in the outfield, Christopher “Needs New Eyes” Eyer’s fine catches in the outfield and a dashing double-play with Naslamwell, Richie Rich’s superb single, Kate Scaldwell Elwell’s fine pitching and stupendous hit, Hot Stuff José’s command of the outfield and his hard-hitting bat, H-Bomb Hasley’s fierce hitting and catching, Dan Bouchard’s double and single, and Liz the Aggressor Agresta’s fielding in right and her panache at the plate.

We were also blessed to have Man Cub’s Grand Slam Gramma cheering us on, plus Man Cub himself, along with Dan’s fine family, the Amazing Anna and the Magnificent Maggie! Maggie the Magnificent also helped keep us cool by smooshing ice packs on our backs, and entertained us with a lovely drawing and some notes (see scorecard for game 2).

All in all, a fun fish time was had by all, though boy howdy those double headers are gross. This season has flown by, and next week is our final regular-season game, vs. Straw Dogs (LET’S BEAT THEM AGAIN I KNOW WE CAN!) on the women’s softball diamond.

Yours in softball,

Judy
