We fought hard last night and have nothing to be ashamed of! Our bats really came alive in the 4th and 6th innings. The 4th began w/ John Costello's aggressive base-running and graceful slide into 3rd base, and then Danny Mickus knocked him home with a beautiful home run! José Luis Herrero got a double, and Greg Dokshin, Kate Caldwell, and Nathan Hohenstein got on base as well. In the 6th, Mickus got on base again, as well as Evan Mauser, José Luis, Nathan, and Kate. Others who got on base throughout were Ryan Picazio, Katie Helke, and Erin Hasley. Nice job, folks!
Defensively we did well, too, shutting them out in the 3rd, 5th, and 6th innings. There were also some great plays in the infield, with Ryan doing a stellar job at 1st base. Greg at SS, Marc Lowenthal at 2nd, and Kate as pitcher all made fine throws to get outs at 1st. I think the defensive MVP would have to be Katie Helke, though, who was strutting her stuff at 3rd base.
Next week we play our dear old friends the Whybunts on the astroturf, on Wednesday. Stay strong, Catfish!
